Watch & Learn More About The Manhattan Beach Water Tower Here is the previous Manhattan Beach Water Tower video: https://youtu.be/bWzNch8zbuQ Information: The water tower was built in the 1940s and was structurally anchored and retrofitted in the 1990s. The tower is now mainly used as a backup system and for pressure control and not for storage. How tall is the Manhattan Beach Water Tower? Many water towers and elevated tanks have been built throughout Manhattan Beach's history, including a 145-foot-high tower built in the 1920s on Sepulveda Boulevard. The only tower standing is an elevated water tower, designed and built in the late 1940s, located at Rowell Avenue and 6th Street. Is the water in Manhattan Beach clean? Generally the water quality at Manhattan Beach is very good. At times, after a heavy rain, storm drains may wash undeserable pollutants into the ocean. Many people avoid swimming at those times. You can check the water quality at LA County Public Health Beach Advisories. Where does Manhattan Beach get its water? The City obtains approximately 80 percent of its water supply from MWD surface water, 17 percent from groundwater, and three percent from recycled water. These three water sources have been, and continue to be, adequate to meet the total water demands of the City. By Gregg Towsley http://www.GrowPlumbing.com 310-909-8835 or Gregg @GrowPlumbing.com
